CHIPS QUESTIONS
What are iWon Chips?
iWon Chips are the "prize points" you play with on the games in our Games Channel. All users start with 2,000 Chips, and then increase or decrease their balance by betting on games within our iWon Casino area. Users can also win chips based upon their scores within all of the games in our High Scores section.

What do I do with my "Chips"?
Well, you can either stock them up to show off how good a casino player you are or...you can use them! By saving up your iWon Chips, you can exchange them for entries in our
Chips Sweepstakes. You can exchange your Chips for a maximum of 10 entries per day. For official rules, click here.

What happens when I run out of Chips?
Don't worry, if you ever "lose" all of your iWon Chips, you can easily restore your balance. When you run out of Chips, just click on the "Restore your balance" button on the Game window, and your balance will automatically be reset to 2,000 Chips.

Do my Chips carry over from game to game? Will they still be here tomorrow?
Yes and yes. Think of your Chips balance as a "bank". You have 2,000 Chips when you start. If you win 1,500 Chips in Blackjack, your balance is now 3,500. If you move over to Slots, you'll start that game with a balance of 3,500. Quit for the day and come back to Poker tomorrow and you'll still have 3,500 waiting for you. In short, your balance will follow you around the iWon Casino from game to game and day to day.

Will my Chips transfer over to my Pogo tokens?
Unfortunately, no. Your iWon Chips account is completely separate from your Pogo tokens account. Each system has its own "bank" set up, and each will have a separate prize structure.

Come on, does anyone ever really win the "Jackpot" on Slots or Caribbean Stud?
Absolutely. Just hang in there and you could win too. Whatever Jackpot winnings you score in Slots, Video Poker and Caribbean Stud will automatically be added to your Chips balance. Just remember that all awards from these free iWon Games are based solely on iWon Chips. iWon Chips can only be used to enter the iWon Chips Sweepstakes. iWon Chips have no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash.

Can you explain the whole "Personal Best" section of the Cashier's page?
You got it. Basically, the Personal Best section lists your all-time high score for each specific Casino game. It's the most amount of Chips you've ever won on a specific game. For example, if you start Blackjack with 7,500 in your Chips Balance, play for an hour and leave Blackjack with 10,000 Chips, then you've essentially "won" 2,500 Chips in Blackjack. So your "Personal Best" in Blackjack is 2,500.

What's the deal with this whole "High Rollers" score thing?
The "High Rollers" section of the iWon Casino lists the Top 10 all-time high scores for each specific Casino game. The score shown is the most amount of Chips a user has ever won on a specific game. For example, if a user starts Blackjack with 7,500 in his Chips Balance, plays for an hour and leaves Blackjack with 10,000 Chips, then he's essentially won 2,500 Chips in Blackjack. So his "High Roller" score in Blackjack is 2,500.

Where can I find my personal High Scores on the regular games?
Those would be listed on the regular My Chips page of our High Scores section. Just click on any of the High Scores links on the Games homepage. You'll see the highest score you've achieved for each of the games within our High Scores section.

What about all the other High Scores?
By clicking on any of the Champions links, you can see the daily and all-time high scores from all users for our High Scores games. If you're not on the list, keep practicing and hopefully you'll make it soon.

Do I win anything for a High Score?
Sure. For starters, you get your name up in lights... at least until someone knocks you off of the High Scores charts. You can also win Chips based upon your scores in our High Scores games. Click on the "Rules" button for each game to see how many Chips are awarded for each score.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS
I receive an error when attempting to load or install the iWon Bingo Game. Why?
If you are receiving an "error 1" while attempting to load or install the iWon Bingo feature, the most likely cause is that the chat component of this game did not install correctly. In order to resolve this, perform the following steps:
This should install the new version of Super Chat/Private Messenger. After completing this install, you should be able to play iWon Bingo without problems.

What kind of hardware or software do I need to play the games?
All you need to do is access our website, login, and click on the game names. (We're sorry, but our games do not currently work on Web TV.) Our games will run on just about any make, model or brand computer…but to run Java best, we recommend a Pentium computer with 32 megabytes of memory, and either Netscape Navigator version 4.08 (and above) or Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.1 (and above). If you are trying to access the games using a Netscape browser you will need to have the Java Runtime Plugin.

Mac users can play too, as long as they have a computer that will support Java. To play the games on a Mac platform you must be using the Apple Java Virtual Machine 2.2.2 or greater and be using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or greater.

To be sure your browser and system settings are correct see our System Requirements

I am using Internet Explorer 6 and am having trouble loading the iWon games. Why?

If you're having difficulty loading iWon/Excite Games with Internet Explorer 6, you may not have the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine installed. You can download this at the following address: http://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm

I can't see the games properly on my monitor. What can I do?
In order to see our casino games properly on your computer monitor, you need to make sure that the "Screen Area" in your Display settings is set large enough.

Here is how to check your screen area settings in MS Windows:
  • Click on the "Start" button on your Windows task bar.
  • Click on "Settings."
  • Then click on "Control Panel."
  • Double-click on the "Display" icon (monitor).
  • When the Display window opens, click on the "Settings" tab.
  • Look at the "Screen Area" setting in the lower right corner of the Display window.
  • Move the bar to make sure the Screen Area is set to at least 800 x 600.
If your computer allows it, we recommend a Screen Area setting of 1024 x 768, or higher. The larger the Screen Area setting, the more you will be able to see on one page.

I clicked on a game and nothing happened. What's wrong?
Sometimes, the Java games take a little time to load. Here are a couple of things to consider:
  • If you are using an older modem, the games should load in about 1 to 2 minutes the very first time you play.
  • If you have the correct configuration, your Java Support may be turned off. Check your "preferences" in your browser "properties" to make sure you have not disabled Java.
  • If the game screen comes up but none of the game-functions work, try to reload the games: Hold down the left shift key and at the same time click on refresh in your browser. This should restart the games.
  • If the games suddenly freeze up but the rest of your computer is OK, you may need to shut down your browser and restart your computer. This is the result of Microsoft's memory management system. It is inconsistent and only affects some computers. If this happens, you will need to close all your browser windows (including e-mail), restart your computer, and then reconnect and reenter the games.

I use AOL. Can I still play the Java games?
Yes, you can. Here are special instructions for AOL users (version 4.0 - 5.0): If you access the Internet via AOL and are experiencing difficulty in playing our games then the following information will provide you with a solution:
To clear your cache, select "My AOL" from the menu bar. From the pull down menu, select preferences. On the next screen, select "www", choose general, click on the delete files button and then click the ok button. While this screen is open, select the "Web Graphics" tab and UNCHECK the "Use Compressed Graphics" check box. Close all of your browser windows and restart your browser.

I have Web TV. Can I still play the games?
Unfortunately, not at the moment. You need a Java compatible browser to play and Web TV does not yet support Java.
